RACE ENTRY
How do I enter?
All entries must be submitted through our sign-up platform Let's Do This. Unfortunately, we are unable to process any entries over the phone or via email.
What is the minimum age to enter?
As of race day you must meet the following age thresholds to compete:
Torbay Half Marathon - 17 years of age and above
Torbay 10k – 15 years of age and above
How do I qualify for a UK Athletics Affiliated entry?
To qualify for a UK Athletics Affiliated entry, your club must be listed with the UKA Governing body. If you are not able to see your club listed when registering, please email support@letsdothis.com.
When do entries close?
Entries close approximately 5 weeks prior to event day. Please see social media channels for the most up to date information.
Can I enter the race on race day?
No, we are not able to accept any on the day entries.
Can I race for charity?
Yes absolutely! You can choose to enter on a charity ticket which may give you a discounted race entry fee in exchange for a fundraising amount (all charity tickets are different and may change from year to year so please see Let's Do This for the most up to date information.) Alternatively, you can choose to raise money through fundraising. We have an optional list of charities you can select and raise money for through Just Giving.

If you would like to raise money for a charity that is not listed, please ask the charity to contact us via email info@taurusevents.co.uk and we will liaise with them directly.
I am a wheelchair entrant can I enter one of your Races?
Unfortunately, we do not allow anyone to be pushed around our courses in a wheelchair. If you are a self-propelled wheelchair user, please email info@taurusevents.co.uk to confirm the course is suitable for you.
DEFERRALS, TRANSFERS & REFUNDS
I can no longer take part in the race I signed up for – what are my options?
If you find yourself in a position that you are no longer able to participate in the event you have the following options –

Transfer to an alternative race distance. You can change your race distance from the Half to the 10k up to 4 weeks prior to event day.

Transfer your place to another participant. If you know someone who has not yet signed up, you are able to transfer your place to another participant up to 4 weeks prior to event day. Please note this will incur an admin fee.
Can I have a refund?

Considerable efforts go into planning and delivering Torbay Half Marathon and 10k. From the moment you complete your registration costs are incurred from staffing, medals, t-shirts, infrastructure, venue hire etc. because of this, we are unfortunately unable to offer you a refund on your entry if you have not opted for Refund Protect.
Can I defer my place to next year’s race?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer deferrals into future events. Please either apply for a refund through Refund Protect if you opted for this additional cover or transfer your entry to an alternative distance or new participant if you find you are no longer able to run.
Can I give my race number to someone else?
You are not permitted to give you race number to anyone else. If a participant is found to be wearing the race number of someone else, they will be immediately disqualified from the race. This is in line with UK Athletics guidance.
RACE PACKS & NUMBERS
Terminology explained:
Race Pack – This is a physical pack which is posted to you. It will contain Athlete Information, your bib, and your chip.
Race Bib – This is roughly the size of an a5 piece of paper and will include a 4-digit number on the front. The rear of the bib contains a medical form. It is essential that you complete this information before you arrive on site on race day.
Chip – This is an attachment attached to the back side of your bib. It will automatically register your finish time and form the leader board for the overall standings.
Race Number – This is the 4-digit number which is unique to you. It is shown on the front of your race bib.
Race Booklet – This is a digital booklet that will be sent to you via email. It will contain essential information about the race as well as some guidance and ways to get the most out of your day.
Baggage Label – This is a detachable strip at the bottom of your Race Bib that you can use to safely store your baggage on Race Day at the baggage drop location.
How do I get my race number?
Your race number will be posted to you using the address you entered when registering. These will start to arrive approximately two weeks before the event. The race numbers will be sent in batches so it may be likely that your race number will arrive as close as 4 days before the event.
I would like to collect my race number in person, is this possible?
Details on race number collection will be announced in due course.
I have moved house / changed my address since entering, can I change my contact details?
Yes, you can change your details directly through your Let's Do This account. It is essential that all your personal information is correct no later than 4 weeks prior to the event.
What happens if my race number doesn’t arrive, or I lose it?
If you are in the unfortunately position that you lose your race number and chip or it does not arrive within 48 hours of race day, please contact us via email info@taurusevents.co.uk and we will discuss the options with you.
Do I need to attach my timing chip to my bib?
No – the timing chip is already attached to the back side of your bib. Please do not attempt to remove or move the chip as it will interfere with the technology.
Do I need to attach my bib to my running top?
Yes! Please securely attach your bib by all four corners to the front and centre of your running top. We would recommend using safety pins for this. Please ensure your bib is secured in place on your running top prior to arriving to on the day. It is essential it is visible and secured for the start line, failure to do so may result in you being disqualified from the event.
RACE DAY
What time does the race start?
Final details on the race timings are still being confirmed. All information will be available on the relevant event pages once finalised.
What are the cut off times for the races?
We do not have official cut off times for each race, instead we have dynamic road re-openings that starts 3 hours after the start of the Half Marathon.
What are the routes for the Half and 10k races?
All routes are published on our social media channels and on the relevant event pages.
Can I run in fancy dress?
Yes, we all love to see your creative and fun fancy dress outfits. However, you must be wearing appropriate running trainers and ensure you are hydrated. If you are looking to run with props or heavy equipment, please email details and pictures to info@taurusevents.co.uk to be reviewed by the Race Director.
Do you have pacers I can follow?
Yes, we have pacers for both distances, you will find them on event day with blue flags on their back with the pace time shown.
Are there toilets on route?
Yes, there are complementary and paid for toilets available on Paignton Green.
Is the course fully marshalled?
Yes, our amazing team of volunteers will marshal the route and will be on hand to make sure you go the right way!
If I get into health difficulties on the route, what do I do?
If you find yourself in a position that you obtain an injury on route, please safely make your way to the side of the road and get the attention of one of the marshals who will be able to radio for assistance.
Can I wear headphones whilst running?
In line with UK Athletics guidance, only bone-conducting headphones are permitted. We reserve the right to withdraw any participant found wearing any other type of headphones during the event.
What rewards do I get for finishing my race?
Every participant who crosses the finish line will receive a high-quality metal finishers medal and a goody bag. There is an option to opt in and claim a finisher t-shirt for free. Please note there will be a deadline for adding the finisher t-shirt to your booking.

You can also opt to have your medal engraved for a additional fee for an extra special memento of your achievement!
Where can I go for help on Race Day?
There will be an information point located on Paignton Green. Please refer to the Site Map closer to race day for the exact location.
Where can I leave my bag on Race Day?
There will be a baggage drop area located on Paignton Green, please refer to the Site Map closer to event day for more information.
Where can I park on Race Day?
We recommend Victoria Car Park in Garfield Rd Paignton TQ4 6AU. Other car parks and some on street parking are available, but maybe limited at this time of year, please also take into account that road closures are in place. It will be busy, please arrive in good time and car share where possible.
What are the prize categories and competitions?
There will be trophies for the podium winners of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd placed male and female finisher.
Age category winners will receive a code to claim free entry in next years event.

The Age Categories are Junior, U20, VO40, VO45, VO50, VO55, VO60, VO65, VO70, VO75 male and female.
GETTING INVOLVED
Can my family and friends come to watch me run?
Definitely! We love to see the support from our participants' family and friends! There are many great vantage points around the courses!
I would like to support the runners by performing on the route, who should I contact?
We are always looking for new and creative cheer stations along our route, please email info@taurusevents.co.uk to discuss further!
Can I trade in the race village on Race Day?
Yes – we have limited trader spaces available, so please email us to talk through options and pricing – info@taurusevents.co.uk
