Important Road Closure & Parking Information | Sunday 20 September 2026
Road Closures & Parking
The Torbay Half Marathon & 10K returns to the English Riviera on Sunday 20 September 2026, bringing more than 3,600 participants and thousands of spectators to the area.
To allow the event to take place safely, a number of temporary road closures, traffic restrictions and parking suspensions will be in place across Paignton and the surrounding area.
We understand that these arrangements may affect residents, businesses, visitors and local travel and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. We are working closely with the relevant authorities and traffic management teams to keep disruption to a minimum and ensure roads are reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.
Road Closures
The main seafront route between Paignton and Torquay will be closed to traffic from 07:00 on Sunday 20 September as part of the event's traffic management arrangements.
Temporary closures and restrictions are necessary to provide a safe environment for participants, volunteers, spectators and road users while the event is taking place.
If you are travelling through the area on event day, please allow extra time for your journey, plan your route in advance and follow all temporary road signs and diversion routes.
Access arrangements may vary depending on your location and the progress of the event. Roads will be reopened progressively once it is safe to do so.
Parking
There will also be temporary parking suspensions in place across parts of Paignton over the event weekend. Please check the information below carefully and make alternative parking arrangements where required.
To help reduce congestion around the Event Village, we are encouraging participants and spectators to use our Park & Stride initiative, with parking available at:
Victoria Car Park
Quay West Car Park
Torbay Leisure Centre Car Park
From these locations, you can walk to the Event Village on Paignton Green.
Parking Suspensions
Torbay Road, Paignton
All parking bays on Torbay Road between Kings Drive and the Torbay Hotel, on both carriageways, will be suspended from 06:00 until 14:00 on Sunday 20 September 2026.
Morin Road, Paignton
Parking will be suspended on the north-west side between the junctions with Manor Road and Seaway Road, from 08:00 on Saturday 19 September until 14:00 on Sunday 20 September 2026.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while these measures are in place. With thousands of people taking part, these temporary arrangements are essential to delivering a safe and successful event.
