KITSON BOYCE TEAM CHALLENGE AT TORBAY HALF MARATHON AND 10K TO HAVE A FOOTBALL FLAVOUR

With just four weeks to go until the Torbay Half Marathon and 10k, teams from across the region are stepping up their preparations for the Kitson Boyce Team Challenge, a popular feature of the event.

This year will see a friendly football-related rivalry kick off, with teams from Torquay United and the Plymouth Argyle Community Trust set to line up on the start line. The Gulls’ line-up is set to include first-team manager Paul Wotton and his assistant Mike Edwards.

Local solicitors Kitson Boyce, the official Team Challenge sponsor, will be leading by example and have entered teams into both the half marathon and 10k. They will face stiff competition from the football-linked teams, as other entrants include Great Western Railway, Devon Tree Services, City College Plymouth and Wolferstans.

The Team Challenge is open to groups of four or more people who will battle it out on Sunday 21 September to be crowned winners of the coveted trophy in both the half marathon and 10k distances. The winners will also receive a cash prize to donate to a charity of their choice.

Suzi Cumberland, Managing Director of event organisers Taurus, said: “The Kitson Boyce Team Challenge is a great part of event day. Some will be taking part to win, whilst others will be there just for the fun of it. Whatever the motivation, it’s good to see so many teams wanting to be part of it.”

Teams can still enter online at www.torbayhalfmarathon.co.uk by adding their name in the ‘Team’ field. The fastest four participants from each team will have their times combined to produce the Team Challenge leaderboard results.
