ROWCROFT HOSPICE NAMED AS OFFICIAL CHARITY PARTNER FOR TORBAY HALF  MARATHON AND 10K

A major charity at the heart of the regional community is hoping to see hundreds of participants taking part to raise money for them when the Torbay Half Marathon and 10k return to the English Riviera this autumn.

Rowcroft Hospice, who provide vital care and assistance for those with life-limiting illnesses, will be the Official Charity Partner for the half marathon and 10k events.

Mark Hawkins, Chief Executive of Rowcroft Hospice, expressed his delight at seeing the events return to Torbay after a two year absence. He said: “We know from previous experience that the Torbay Half Marathon and 10k can make a real difference in raising funds for the hospice, and we encourage people to consider taking part for Rowcroft. It is going to be a wonderful day of human spirit and endeavor in the Bay area.”

Mark's enthusiasm has been echoed by Suzi Cumberland, Managing Director of new event organisers Taurus Events, who has also been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the return of the events, which will be staged on Sunday September 29th.

Suzi says: “From the first moment we started looking at bringing back the Torbay Half Marathon, it was clear that the region needs an event of this nature in the calendar. For Rowcroft Hospice, it provides an event platform which facilitates fundraising in a celebratory and positive environment.”

With a route taking in the coastline of the English Riviera, the events are expected to attract runners of all abilities from across Devon and the rest of the UK.

Entries are now open for both events and there is the opportunity to register to take part and fundraise for Rowcroft Hospice by selecting them on the entry form. You can also find out more about fundraising for Rowcroft at Torbay Half Marathon | Rowcroft Hospice
