TORBAY HALF MARATHON & 10K CELEBRATES RECORD-BREAKING EVENT ON THE ENGLISH RIVIERA

The Torbay Half Marathon & 10K has celebrated another successful return to the English Riviera, with nearly 4,000 participants taking to the streets of Torbay on Sunday 20 September.

Organised by Taurus Events Ltd, the 2026 event welcomed its largest ever field, building on the success of the event’s return in 2025, which saw 2,900 participants take part.

Starting and finishing on Paignton Green, participants took on the Half Marathon and 10K against the backdrop of the English Riviera, with thousands of spectators turning out to support them along the route.

This year also saw the introduction of a new route for the Half Marathon, showcasing more of Torbay’s coastline and iconic landmarks. Participants passed through Torquay Marina, Princess Gardens and Princess Pier, adding new views and experiences to the course.

The event was supported by a strong network of local businesses, sponsors and partners, alongside volunteers and members of the local community who helped bring the event to life.

The 2026 Torbay Half Marathon & 10K saw some impressive performances across both distances, with Michael Sandiford and Lauren Knox taking the top spots in the Half Marathon, while George Paton and Emily Criddle claimed victory in the 10K.

The 2026 event builds on the success of the record-breaking 2025 edition, which attracted 2,900 participants and an estimated 30,000 spectators and saw more than £150,000 raised for charities across the UK, marking another significant milestone for the event.

With entries for the 2027 Torbay Half Marathon & 10K now open, participants can already look ahead to next year’s event on Sunday 19 September.
