The Torbay Half Marathon & 10K is set to welcome a record-breaking 3,600 participants to the English Riviera when the event returns on Sunday 20 September 2026.

Organised by Taurus Events Ltd, the event has continued to grow following its successful return in 2025, which saw a then-record 2,900 participants take to the start line. This year’s 3,600 entries represent a significant increase and the largest field in the event’s history.

Returning to Paignton Green, participants will take on either the Half Marathon or 10K, with both routes showcasing some of the most iconic locations across Torbay. The event is expected to attract thousands of spectators to the seafront and surrounding areas, creating a vibrant atmosphere for participants and spectators.

The continued growth of the event reflects the increasing popularity of mass participation running across the region, with participants travelling from across the UK to take on the challenge and experience the English Riviera.

Suzi Cumberland, Managing Director of Taurus Events Ltd, said: “The response to this year’s event has been fantastic and it’s been great to see the momentum continue following last year’s return.

“An event of this scale is only possible with the support of our participants, volunteers, partners, sponsors and the wider Torbay community. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to get behind the event and play a part in its growth and we’re looking forward to bringing everyone together for another fantastic day on the English Riviera.”

The event will also continue the tradition of honouring the legacy of the previous organisers through the Torbay Athletics Club trophy. The trophy recognises the history of the event and the contribution of those who have helped establish and grow running in the local community, with its presentation forming part of this year’s event.

The 2026 event will also see the return of the Team Challenge, sponsored by Kitson Boyce, Rowcroft Hospice, the official charity partner and a host of local sponsors and partners supporting the event. With a growing field and an anticipated 26,000 spectators, the event is set to be one of the biggest days in the Torbay sporting calendar.

The Torbay Half Marathon & 10K takes place on Sunday 20 September 2026, with participants now preparing for the event and looking ahead to race day.
